Community wellness through rowing

Masters Recreational ("adult rec") rowing focuses largely on providing members a solid aerobic workout, honing rowing technique, and creating a positive social environment with other rowers. Limited time is devoted toward competition at regattas. Rowers unable to participate in the competitive program but wishing to race may consider forming independent crews with other certified rowers.

Intermediate Fall 2019

We have a new program for our adult rowers. This is for rowers who would like the challenge of competition, but can't make the commitment that is required of competitive. It is definitely for those who want this exact level of competition or for those who may need to build some skill and stamina for competitive. Participants in this program will have two dedicated practices per week, but are encouraged to row with the Rec Team at their scheduled times, as well. Coached practices will concentrate on honing foundational skills, building speed and stamina, and having a great time on and off the water. The Intermediate Team will compete in Michigan regattas; this fall they will be going to Traverse City, Lake Leelanau, and competing in our own Fall Classic and Boo-gatta. See the Masters Recreational page for more details.
