Our Learn to Row Weekend Clinic is designed for learning on a your schedule. Start with a compressed burst of learning in one weekend, Saturday June 18 and Sunday June 19 Noon to 3 pm. Over the following four weeks, join our Learn to Row classes on Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu 6-8 pm or Adult Recreation on Mon/Wed 6-8 pm, Sat 8-10 am as your schedule permits. We suggest rowing twice a week. However, you can row as many times as you like. On the last Friday of the fourth week, July 15 6-8 pm, join all LTR classes for Boats, Beers and Burgers mini-regatta. Your family and friends are welcome and encouraged to attend! Please mark that date on your calendar.

This class is designed for first time rowers. Beginners will be taught the basics of the rowing stroke, how to handle the equipment and will spend much of the time on the water having fun with their classmates and enjoying the sport.

What to bring: Rowing is a good workout. Wear workout clothes. Wear tight-fitting shorts (spandex if you dare), as loose-fitting clothes will get caught in the rowing shell's mechanisms. Wear socks that you are not afraid to get dirty - really dirty - and shoes that you can easily slip off.

We recommend bringing bug spray, sunglasses, and a full water bottle to every practice.

Rowing is a water sport. We could row in the rain, so a towel and change of clothes in your car is also a good idea.

Please note: As all classes take place outdoors, we have periodically been forced to cancel individual class periods due to flooding or bad weather. We guarantee that we will hold at least 10 of 12 scheduled class periods - and typically are able to "make up" lost classes, as well.

Attendance is limited so sign up now! At least 8 students are required in order to run the class. Additionally, if flooding or other unforeseen conditions force us to cancel the class altogether, your registration fee can be refunded in full or transferred to a future class.

IMPORTANT: All non-member participants will need to read, print, and bring this (signed) waiver to the first session! We must have a signed waiver from you in order to place you in a boat!

(Waiver requires Adobe Acrobat Reader. Download the free Reader software here.)
