  Winter training will focus on improving strength and endurance in preparation for the spring racing season and is open to any athlete who has completed at least the beginner level or has prior rowing experience. At this time, all training will be virtual. Rowers will receive a training packet and Tom will decide on Team Virtual Nights. Practices will include a varied combination of erg training, cardio, stretching & yoga, and weight training. There will be an emphasis on personal improvement throughout the season and the coaches will help each athlete set individual goals.

  Athletes of all experience levels are welcome to participate. 

  Cost includes the training program and coaching fees. 

  WINTER TRAINING

  1st 6 Weeks:

  January 17 - February 26

  Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, 5:30 to 7:00 PM and Saturday, 10:00 to Noon.

  2nd 4 weeks:

  February 28 - March 26 (Dock In)

  Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 5:30 to 7:00 PM and Saturday, 10:00 to Noon.

  Regatta:

  Our Head Coach, Tom Postma, will be conducting the winter training. There is one ergatta planned; dates and times of events to be announced during practice.

  $75 - Training program and coaching

  $125 - 10-week indoor rower rental

• Adult Winter Conditioning 2022

  We are excited to be able to offer Adult Winter Conditioning with Royle Row. Marlene Royle, a rower, coach, and author, provided our team with an excellent 3-month training program during Winter 2021. We were all so pleased with the result (and the medals proved its worth), we are using her new workout program. She will be designing it specifically for GRRC. This is a graduated program and all fitness levels are encouraged to participate. Train for Competitive season or train simply to keep yourself fit and practiced. Please go through registration and pay online. Training will begin in January. 

  There will be days designated for TEAM practice at the boathouse, but most - if not all - of the workouts can be accomplished at home. We do highly encourage all those who can to join the GRRC crew at the boathouse. It's better when we're together. 

  Workouts: 6 per week for 3 months

  Price: $75 for 3 months or $25/month

• GRRC Board Meeting

  Every 3rd Tuesday of the month, our GRRC Board of Directors meet to plan, discuss, and review financials for the club. There is always open discussion regarding programming, coaching, regattas, and fundraising. Our Members Forum is typically from 8-8:15 and we welcome all questions, suggestions, and new ideas. If you are a GRRC member, please plan on attending one or more of our meetings throughout the season. Our agendas and minutes are posted on the Membership page, so be sure to login and click to see what is happening. 

  Emphasis: This month's meeting will include finalizing the Spring/Summer dates; membership meeting, Club rows, Coxswain Clinic,  Launch Learning Day, Work Days, etc. We will also be discussing possible fundraising and community engagement.
