On Wednesday, June 9, let's celebrate the club! We are back on the water and back in team boats. After our usual row, we will gather for some snacks and drinks at the boathouse. Nothing fancy, because we're not that fancy. Each rower should bring their beverage of choice (there will be a cooler with ice provided) and a snack - something sweet or savory. We won't be providing dinner - it's just a simple snack and beverage kind of thing. Plan on some short and important announcements during the evening. We want to make every effort to keep up clear and consistent communication.

The dock is in and temps are going up! We are welcoming all members, supporters, and rowing families back for a very exciting 2021 season. We are anticipating a great season with small and team boats on the water. Adult rowing is every Monday and Wednesday from 6-8pm and Saturday from 8-10am (weather and wind permitting). All members, please be sure that your general waiver and COVID waiver is signed and turned in before you row. When you login, you will need to mark the COVID release (checkbox) to show that you fulfill all the requirements to row. Signs are posted for disinfection procedures on all club equipment.

We are SO excited to have you back - we have lots of returning members, new members, and lots of junior rowers. There is certainly a buzz around the boathouse already! We'll see you on the water.

A HUGE Thank You to all the members who attended the meeting yesterday, gave suggestions and encouragement, and helped plan for a hopeful 2021 season. Thank you to our 2020 Board for seeing us through a very difficult season; a special thanks to Lisa Lawton, Stephanie Kraus, Chris Nelson, and Dave Morrison, who served in 2020, but have chosen to step down from their positions. We appreciate your service. Congratulations and welcome to Justin Ebert, Director of Rowing; Daniel Williams, Boathouse Director; David Visser, Membership Director, and Katie Wynalda, Treasurer. These three, along with our returning board have already hit the ground running. There are some exciting things happening, even during the winter months. Look for a Winter Conditioning Program very soon along with some changes to our GRRC website and social media platforms. We will be sending out a Member Newsletter soon with "things to look for" in 2021. We appreciate everyone's energy, enthusiasm and dedication to your club! The position of Communications Director is still open. If you are interested, please contact a GRRC Board member.

Just a quick, but very important, reminder that Dock Out is this Saturday, November 7. We will start at 10am and work until finished. We have 34 sections of dock to remove from the river and stack into the cage, so it's All Hands On Dock! All club members, Juniors, parents, and friends - all are welcome. Please wear weather appropriate clothes and bring a power drill and work gloves. There will be food and hot beverages!

Thanks to all those who worked tirelessly to fundraise for our equipment fund. Our efforts are paying off! Coach Dave is on his way home with a new (to us) trailer, which gives our teams so much more flexibility in the regattas we host and those we travel to throughout the season. Thanks to everyone who made this purchase possible. Now, we can load up our new boats on our new trailer.

The April board meeting set for Thursday, April 11, will be at Optimal Wellness on Cascade Road. The meeting time will be 7pm, as stated on our calendar. The policy for room rental at all local KDL locations has changed, so we may be looking for another venue for future meetings.
